Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it, say so on the story, and list it here. Mistakes are corrected openly, never quietly.

Report an error
Email [email protected] with "Correction" in the subject line. Please include the story's link, what you believe is wrong, and a source if you have one. An editor reviews every request, and we aim to respond within one business day.

How we correct
- Errors of fact (a wrong figure, name, date or claim) are fixed on the story, with a dated note explaining what changed.
- Minor fixes such as spelling or formatting are made without a note.
- If a brief is fundamentally wrong, we remove it and explain why here.
- If a source we drew on corrects its own reporting, we update our brief to match.
